Introduction
Blue Water Engineering Group Overview
Company Evolution and Major Milestones
Blue Water Engineering Pte Ltd (BWE) was founded in July 1997 primarily to service the subsea division of the offshore oil and gas industry.
The company provided diving operations, technical consultancy, key personnel, specialist project management to regional oil majors as well as leading service contractors.
BWE diversified into the onshore oil & gas industry with the design, installation and commissioning of a 5,000 bbl/day capacity sludge treatment plant in Sumatra.
This was the first onshore project for the company and was later followed by onshore services such as exploration drilling and other oil & gas related activities .
In 2002, BWE in partnership with a large Norwegian offshore vessel company, provided 2 x 10,000 bhp Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT’s) to an oil major in Malaysia.
BWE Director A. Reudavey spent 2004 to 2008 with an oil major in Malaysia, as a Technical Authority 1 (TA1) and Contract Holder. This presented the company with very valuable insight into contractual, technical, health and safety issues from a major oil company point of view.
A restructuring took place in 2009 where Blue Water Engineering Pte. Ltd. became the corporate holding company with Blue Water Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (BWEM) incorporated to focus on the booming offshore industry in that country.
An opportunity was presented to the company in 2013 for the redevelopment of 3 onshore oilfields in the Cepu region of Java, Indonesia. The oilfields were first drilled in the early 1900’s by the Dutch but were abandoned during WWII. After the war, a number of the wells were brought back into low production (4 to 6 bbs/day) by the local owners.
Meanwhile, Blue Water Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. is forming a joint venture company that will hold Petronas licenses and further enhance the services our companies are able to provide to the onshore and offshore industries.
